Do you or a loved one suffer from opioid use disorder or dependence?

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. MAT programs are tailored to meet each patient’s need using Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved medications such as Suboxone.

What is Suboxone?

Suboxone is a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone.

Buprenorphine is an opioid partial agonist that is weaker than full opioid agonists such as methadone and heroin. It is safe and effective at:

  • Decreasing the effects of opioid dependency

  • Minimizing withdrawal symptoms

  • Has a low potential for misuse

Naloxone is an opioid antagonist, which on its own is designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. When combined with buprenorphine, naloxone binds to opioid receptors to block the effects of other opioids such as morphine and oxycodone.
